Romanians are less willing than the EU average to pay for streaming services, with only 21.3% having subscriptions in 2025 compared to 32.7% in the EU. Video streaming is the most popular service in the EU, but Romania lags significantly behind, ranking low among member states. Ireland leads with 63.9% of users subscribed, while Bulgaria has the lowest at 9.3%. Other streaming services like music and news subscriptions are also less popular, with only 23% and 7.2% of users paying, respectively.
