As of July 31, 2026, there are 19,031,458 registered voters in Romania, according to the Permanent Electoral Authority (AEP). This marks an increase of 3,725 voters since the end of June. Of the total, 17,979,417 reside in the country, while 1,052,041 live abroad and hold CRDS passports. In July, 18,607 individuals were removed from the register due to death, and 242 due to restrictions on voting rights. Additionally, 64 regained their voting rights after the expiration of their disqualification. The AEP automatically registers 22,510 new voters who turned 18 during this period. The electoral register is maintained by authorized personnel, primarily mayors, as per the law.
