Câți oameni lucrau, de fapt, în Securitate în 1988. Date publicate în premieră de CNSAS

In 1988, over 14,600 individuals were employed by the Securitate, revealing the extensive surveillance apparatus of the communist regime. The data, released by CNSAS, shows that 6,023 worked in the central apparatus, while 2,737 were in security troops. The documents also highlight the gender disparity, with only 15.7% of employees being women and just 22 in leadership roles. Major territorial units were in Bucharest, Constanța, and Timiș, with the smallest in Covasna. The findings provide insight into the mechanisms of control and monitoring used during that period.
