South Korea estimates North Korea possesses between 80 and 120 nuclear weapons, significantly higher than the 57 claimed by President Trump. Defense Minister Ahn Gyu-back stated that while exact numbers are hard to determine, the estimates come from private research organizations. He emphasized that South Korea does not officially recognize North Korea as a nuclear-armed state and will continue to rely on the U.S. nuclear umbrella. Ahn also declined to comment on Trump's remarks regarding North Korea's nuclear status.
