The Romanian Minister of Internal Affairs, Cătălin Predoiu, emphasized the fight against drug trafficking as a key priority, following a successful operation in Hunedoara. Authorities prevented the distribution of high-risk drugs disguised as part of 'spiritual rituals'. Predoiu praised the efforts of the anti-drug police and DIICOT prosecutors, highlighting their adaptability to new trafficking methods. He noted the ongoing operations over the past three years, resulting in numerous arrests and dismantled trafficking groups. The minister called for new anti-drug policies and a special status for anti-drug officers to recognize their professional risks.
