On the occasion of Firefighters' Day, Cătălin Predoiu highlighted the evolution of Romania's emergency system, now regarded as a European model. He noted that Romanian firefighters have responded to over 400,000 emergencies since 2026, with a high public trust in their profession. Predoiu emphasized the importance of European funding and the integration of emergency services in improving capabilities. He also addressed new challenges, such as drone incidents and large-scale wildfires, calling for legislative changes and investments in anti-drone technology. The ceremony commemorated the 178th anniversary of the Battle of Dealul Spirii, honoring the sacrifices of firefighters.
