The prolonged drought has significantly reduced the Danube's flow, impacting energy production at the Iron Gates hydroelectric plants. Hidroelectrica reports daily output at about 6,375 MWh, with a notable decrease compared to previous years. Despite the low water levels, operations continue without major issues, although production programs are adjusted accordingly. The current flow at Baziaș is around 1,440 m³/s, well below the historical average for August. The company anticipates a production lower than last year's figures due to ongoing hydrological conditions.
