A Euronews analysis reveals that in most EU countries, even two average salaries are insufficient for a mortgage of this amount. Romania ranks among the countries with the largest gap between income and housing costs, requiring nearly six average salaries to afford such a loan. In contrast, Luxembourg has the lowest requirement at 1.6 average salaries. The study highlights that the value of a million euro varies significantly across European real estate markets, with many still unable to finance such purchases due to low average salaries.
