Cât ne costă canicula la factură? Analiză AEI privind energia

The heatwave is increasing energy bills and highlighting the vulnerabilities of Romania's National Energy System, according to Dumitru Chisăliță, president of the Intelligent Energy Association. He explains that rising temperatures lead to higher consumption, particularly from air conditioning, which in turn raises costs. The real issue is not just the increased demand but the country's inability to produce enough energy during peak times, forcing Romania to import electricity at high prices. Chisăliță emphasizes that the energy market is fragmented, and without sufficient flexible capacities and storage systems, imports become a default solution. He warns that without investment in production and infrastructure, Romania risks becoming structurally dependent on imports, compromising its energy security.
