Cât mai poate rezista sistemul energetic în criza provocată de secetă. Anunțul Ministerului Energiei: ”Prognozele sunt rezervate”
This summer's severe drought has exposed vulnerabilities in Romania's energy system, leading to the shutdown of the Cernavodă nuclear plant and reduced hydroelectric production. A national debate on climate change and its impact on energy security is being organized by Antena 3 CNN, bringing together decision-makers and energy experts. Virgiliu Ivan from the National Energy Dispatch Center noted that while drought scenarios were considered, the scale of this crisis affecting multiple countries was unexpected. Authorities believe the energy system can cope in September, but forecasts for the Danube's water levels remain unfavorable, with no set date for the nuclear plant's reopening. Cristian Bușoi from the Ministry of Energy stated that the plant's restart depends on rainfall and river levels, with ongoing dredging works to facilitate this process.
