Parents in Romania spend approximately €3,385 in the first year of a baby's life, making it one of the lowest costs in Europe. The analysis by Euronews, based on data from Remitly, considers 14 essential products across six categories. Romania ranks second lowest among 38 countries analyzed, just above the Czech Republic. Clothing, formula, and diapers account for 81% of total expenses. The report also highlights that these costs represent 18.9% of the average annual salary in Romania, slightly below the European average of 20.9%.
