A man is accused by the DNA prosecutors of influence peddling after allegedly receiving money to intervene with military officials. He reportedly demanded payments for transferring a soldier and facilitating exam promotions without proper procedures. Between April and May 2026, he received 13,000 lei to influence a commission regarding a military transfer and 7,000 lei for meals for commission members. Additionally, he received 160,000 lei for facilitating an officer exam. The accused also misled victims about his connections with military leaders. In 2021, he allegedly took 15,000 euros for a job placement at the Emergency Ambulance Service. The DNA has initiated legal action for three counts of influence peddling and imposed judicial control for 60 days, with investigations ongoing.
