Cât au donat românii în 2025: România, pe primul loc în UE
Romania ranks first in the EU for donations relative to income, with an average of 0.9% donated in 2025. This includes charitable donations, direct support to individuals in need, and religious contributions. The World Giving Report 2026, based on a survey of over 60,000 people across 105 countries, shows Romania ahead of Croatia and Ireland. However, only 27% of Romanians donated to charities specifically, contributing an average of 0.4% of their income. The report highlights a correlation between generosity and community belonging, with higher donations in countries where people feel a strong sense of belonging. Globally, 39% of non-donors cited financial constraints, rising to 44% in high-income countries. Nigeria leads worldwide with 2.8% of income donated.
