Carnea de porc și pasăre câștigă teren în România: Producția de bovine și ovine, în declin

In August 2026, Romania saw an increase in pork and poultry production compared to the same month last year, while cattle and sheep production declined. The National Institute of Statistics reported significant growth in poultry, with nearly 36 million birds slaughtered, resulting in a total carcass weight increase of over 6,800 tons. Pork production also rose, with 311,000 pigs slaughtered, leading to a carcass weight increase. Conversely, cattle slaughter numbers fell to 41,000, and sheep and goat production also decreased. However, there was a rise in slaughter numbers and carcass weight for sheep and goats compared to July 2026, while other sectors saw declines.
