Born on December 21, 1938, in Aiud, she graduated from the Institute of Theatrical and Cinematographic Arts in 1959 and joined the National Theatre in Bucharest in 1964. Mărculescu was also a dedicated educator, teaching acting and speech techniques at various institutions. Her film debut was in 1965, and she appeared in over 25 films, collaborating with notable directors. She received multiple honors, including a star on the Walk of Fame in Bucharest and a lifetime achievement award at the Gopo Awards in 2020.
