Cărbunele rămâne pe primul loc în producția mondială de electricitate în 2026: "Drumul pare mult mai lung pentru energia verde"

Despite the rise of renewable energy sources, coal remains the dominant electricity source globally, projected to produce nearly a third of the world's electricity by 2026. The International Energy Agency (IEA) forecasts coal will generate about 10,974 TWh, significantly outpacing natural gas and renewables. The ongoing conflict between the US and Iran has unexpectedly boosted coal's competitiveness due to rising gas prices. In Asia, particularly China and India, coal's dominance is pronounced, with China producing over half of the world's coal-generated electricity. While renewables are growing, they still lag behind coal, which is expected to remain the largest individual electricity source until at least 2030.
