Six individuals from Caraș-Severin are under investigation for forming an organized crime group involved in human trafficking. The group has been active since 2023, facilitating the illegal transport of migrants to Austria and Germany. Authorities conducted six home searches, uncovering that the suspects coordinated the recruitment and transportation of migrants from various countries, including Egypt and Pakistan. In August 2023, 60 migrants were found near the Romanian-Hungarian border, lacking legal entry documents. Some group members have previously faced legal consequences for similar offenses in Germany.
