„Caracatița” corupției de la RAR Sibiu: mita în scrumieră, taxă de urgență și bombe pe 4 roți lăsate în circulație
A complex corruption scheme involving the Romanian Auto Registry (RAR) in Sibiu has been uncovered, leading to multiple convictions, including the director Ioan Cătălin Oțetea. The investigation revealed extensive bribery and influence trafficking, with Oțetea managing illegal inspections for a fee. Five individuals were sentenced, and the network included intermediaries facilitating access to inspections. Various forms of bribes were documented, including cash hidden in vehicles and even goods like fuel and food. The scheme compromised vehicle safety, allowing dangerous cars to pass inspections.
