Romgaz is preparing to supply natural gas directly to residential customers, aiming to eliminate intermediaries. The company is developing the necessary commercial infrastructure to facilitate contracts with consumers. This initiative follows the expiration of the current pricing mechanism on April 1, 2026, under a new emergency ordinance. The ordinance sets a fixed price for gas sold to households at 110 lei/MWh, down from 120 lei/MWh, with regulated transport and distribution tariffs. The regulation aims to ensure energy affordability for the population amid rising gas prices.
