The Romanian Railway Reform Authority announced that Alstom will deliver the last five locomotives from a contract for 16 units next month. A technical visit was conducted at Alstom's factory in Germany for the acceptance testing of the Traxx Passenger locomotives. The project aims to enhance energy efficiency and reduce emissions in rail transport by replacing older locomotives with new electric ones. The total project value is approximately 441 million lei, funded by the Modernization Fund, with implementation scheduled until August 2026.
