Universitatea Cluj is currently in the playoff zone, sitting fifth with 15 points, while CFR Cluj is eighth with 13 points. Both teams are coming off recent victories, with Universitatea winning their last two matches and CFR also securing a win before the international break. Following the derby, the Superliga will continue with the 11th round from October 9-12, featuring several matches across the weekend.
