Când liliecii-vampir devin prieteni apropiați, încep să „vorbească” unul ca celălalt

Recent research reveals that vampire bats exhibit social behaviors similar to humans, including vocal convergence. This phenomenon occurs when individuals develop close relationships and begin to mimic each other's vocalizations. The study, conducted over nine years, analyzed nearly 700,000 vocalizations among 95 common vampire bats, showing that their sounds became more alike as they formed friendships, particularly when sharing food. This vocal complexity aids in hunting and social interaction, with bats using specific calls to connect with friends. Unlike typical bats, vampire bats can move on the ground and rely on blood for sustenance, employing both thermal detection and echolocation for hunting.
