Când începe Postul Crăciunului în 2026. Data de la care credincioșii renunță la mâncarea de dulce - WOWbiz.ro

The Christmas Fast in 2026 begins on November 15 and lasts until December 24, lasting 40 days. This period prepares Christians for the celebration of the Nativity of Jesus Christ. Unlike the stricter Lent, the Christmas Fast allows for fish on certain days, making it easier to observe. The fast commemorates the anticipation of the Messiah by the righteous of the Old Testament and recalls Moses' 40-day fast on Mount Sinai. Confession during this period is emphasized for sincere repentance, and preparation for Holy Communion is also important, requiring fasting and prayer beforehand.
