The Cernavodă nuclear power plant will not restart in September due to unfavorable conditions in the Danube River. Cristian Bușoi from the Ministry of Energy indicated that the reactors might be operational by mid-October, depending on future forecasts. The current water levels are insufficient for safe reactor cooling. Although there were slight increases in river flow, significant decreases are expected soon. To compensate for the electricity loss, imports are primarily relied upon, alongside maximum capacity from other energy sources, including solar and wind. The situation remains cautious, with contingency plans in place.
