Canada is seeking to join the EU's €90 billion loan for Ukraine, enabling the country to purchase defense equipment from Canadian firms. The European Commission confirmed Canada's interest, stating that technical discussions are ongoing. This loan aims to cover two-thirds of Ukraine's financial and military needs for 2026 and 2027, with the EU already having allocated nearly €15 billion. If Canada joins, Ukraine can acquire arms without adhering to EU's 'Made in Europe' requirements. Canada's financial contribution is still under negotiation, and the involvement of more countries is seen as beneficial for Ukraine's defense capabilities.
