Canada impune noi sancţiuni Iranului

The Canadian government announced new sanctions against high-ranking Iranian officials and state entities due to their role in the brutal repression of the Iranian population. These sanctions target five senior officials in security and government, as well as five state-run entities. The Canadian Foreign Ministry highlighted their involvement in suppressing dissent and restricting fundamental freedoms through digital surveillance, censorship, and violence. Protests in Iran have escalated since September 2022, following the death of Mahsa Amini in custody. Since 2022, Canada has imposed 24 rounds of sanctions on 237 individuals and 265 Iranian entities.
