U-BT Cluj-Napoca will directly enter the play-off of the 2026-2027 National Basketball League after most clubs approved their proposal to skip the regular season. This decision was made by the Romanian Basketball Federation due to Cluj's participation in two European competitions. The team will compete in EuroCup and ABA League, entering the play-off from the top position but without home-court advantage. The league will feature 14 teams, with the regular season running from October 3, 2026, to April 16, 2027. The play-off is scheduled for April 21 to June 6, 2027, with specific formats for the matches. Additionally, new regulations on foreign players were approved, allowing teams to register six foreign players and requiring at least one Romanian player on the court at all times.
