Camera Deputaților a votat: Femeile însărcinate vor avea dreptul la un însoțitor pe tot parcursul nașterii
The Romanian Chamber of Deputies has approved a project ensuring pregnant women the right to dignity and privacy during labor and childbirth. Women will now have the right to a companion throughout the process, addressing previous issues where many gave birth alone. The law modifies the Patient Rights Act, mandating healthcare facilities to implement necessary measures for privacy and support. Additionally, newborns will not be separated from their mothers unless medically justified, promoting early contact and breastfeeding. The project awaits presidential promulgation.
