Camera Deputaților a aprobat împrumutul SAFE de 16,68 miliarde de euro pentru România

The Chamber of Deputies approved a €16.68 billion loan agreement between the EU and Romania, despite a negative advisory from the Legislative Council. The project will now go to the Senate for final approval. Most funds will be allocated to defense and national infrastructure projects. The loan offers more favorable financing conditions compared to direct market loans, with a 3.25% interest rate and a repayment period starting in 2035. The government is authorized to negotiate amendments without increasing Romania's financial obligations.
