Calin Georgescu's villa remains under seizure; his appeal was rejected by the judges
The Bucharest Tribunal dismissed Calin Georgescu's appeal to lift the seizure on his villa, imposed to recover 1.1 million euros in damages. He must pay 400 lei in court costs. Georgescu has been in custody since September 29, accused of defrauding a businessman of 1.1 million euros. The case arose from a complaint by Razvan Leu, who claims he lost money in a failed loan scheme involving Georgescu. Leu was misled into paying deposits for a loan that never materialized, including funds allegedly used for Georgescu's presidential campaign.
