Concurrently, Georgescu is involved in a trial concerning an alleged coup attempt and is participating in IT searches at DIICOT. His lawyers requested he not be brought to court due to these searches. Georgescu remains in preventive arrest for 30 days following a decision by the Bucharest Court of Appeal, which cited risks of him evading prosecution or influencing the investigation. Additionally, DIICOT has seized his bank accounts and property in Mogoșoaia.
