Călin Georgescu, arestat preventiv pentru 30 de zile: poliția merge să îl încarcereze

Former presidential candidate Călin Georgescu has been placed in preventive detention for 30 days due to allegations of forming a criminal group and fraud. The decision was made by the Bucharest Court of Appeal after prosecutors contested a previous ruling that allowed him to remain free under judicial control. Georgescu, along with businessman Ionel Rusen, is accused of defrauding a businessman of approximately 1.1 million euros. The case originated from a complaint by businessman Răzvan Leu, who claims he was misled into a fraudulent investment scheme. Following the court's decision, Georgescu was taken into custody, where he was met by supporters attempting to breach security barriers.
