Georgescu is accused of defrauding a businessman of €1.1 million, which included funds used for his electoral campaign. The investigation began after a complaint from Razvan Leu, who claims he was misled into a fraudulent loan scheme. During searches, authorities found a fake diplomatic ID and a jamming device in Georgescu's possession. He faces significant prison time if convicted, as this is his third criminal case.
