Calendarul zilei 18 septembrie: Sf. Ier. Eumenie, Episcopul Gortinei

Saint Eumenios, celebrated on September 18, lived in the 7th century AD. He renounced his wealth early on, dedicating his life to monasticism and spiritual practices. Eumenios became the Bishop of Gortina in Crete, known for his wisdom and miracles. He traveled to Rome and Egypt, where he prayed for rain during a drought. He passed away in the Thebaid, and his relics were returned to his birthplace in Crete, where they rest alongside those of Saint Cyril.
