Calea ferată Cluj–Oradea ar putea fi deschisă temporar cu locomotive diesel
Romania is negotiating with the European Commission to temporarily use diesel locomotives on certain sections of the Cluj-Napoca–Oradea railway line. This is part of efforts to meet the PNRR milestones by August 31, which is crucial for securing European funding. The interim Minister of Transport, Radu Miruță, emphasized that if certain works are not completed on time, there is a risk of partial loss of funds. The project is progressing, with significant milestones expected to be met, but the focus remains on ensuring that all stages are completed by 2028 for a modern, electrified railway connection.
