Calea ferată Brașov-Sighișoara, modernizată cu bani BEI

Romania will receive €630 million from the European Investment Bank for the modernization of the Brașov-Sighișoara railway line, which is part of a larger €2.25 billion project. The upgrade will enhance approximately 113 kilometers of track, allowing passenger trains to travel at speeds of up to 160 km/h and freight trains at 120 km/h. The project aims to improve transport capacity, potentially serving 4 million passengers and transporting 6 million tons of goods annually. It includes the installation of the European Rail Traffic Management System and upgrades to stations, enhancing accessibility for disabled individuals. The modernization is crucial for Romania's connectivity with European transport networks and economic growth.
