Călătoria vieții lor s-a încheiat în Cambodgia. 200 de pasageri care călătoreau în jurul lumii, au fost debarcați după ce compania a rămas fără bani de combustibil
A cruise company, Villa Vie Residences, has stranded 200 passengers in Cambodia due to rising fuel costs linked to the Iran conflict. The monthly fuel expenses surged from $1,800 to $6,000-$8,000, making operations unsustainable. Despite attempts to cut consumption, the company could not transfer costs to passengers. Passengers were informed to disembark and seek temporary accommodation, while the company seeks restructuring and new capital. Many passengers, who viewed the cruise as their home, expressed feelings of loss and disbelief. Villa Vie Odyssey offered permanent residency options on board, with prices ranging from $120,000 to $440,000. Despite the disruption, some passengers plan to continue their travels in Southeast Asia.
