The young male horse, possibly used for pulling a chariot, was found with harness remnants, suggesting a ceremonial burial. The fort, dating back to the New Kingdom, was built for defense against hostile Libyan tribes. Additional findings include a tablet depicting a bound Libyan prisoner and inscriptions of Pharaohs Ramses II and Merneptah. Experts highlight the rarity of horse remains from ancient Egypt, emphasizing the significance of this discovery for understanding the role of horses in military contexts.
