The Black Sea Submarine Cable (BSSC) project between Georgia and Romania is progressing to the marine study phase, which will determine the optimal cable route and provide necessary technical data. A recent technical workshop evaluated the project's status and coordinated future implementation steps, focusing on the seabed study and the Romanian component's authorization. The project aims to enhance regional energy security and interconnectivity, with a proposed capacity of 1,300 MW. It is financially supported by the World Bank and included in the EU's list of Projects of Common Interest, highlighting its strategic importance.
