The Casa Verde program will be modified to fund only energy storage systems, excluding photovoltaic panels, according to Environment Minister Diana Buzoianu. The new program aims to install at least 200 MWh of storage capacity. Buzoianu highlighted the imbalance in funding, with significant investments in solar energy but minimal in storage solutions. The revised program will focus solely on battery components, enhancing energy independence during peak consumption times. Additionally, the funding allocation process will change to prioritize competitive offers, moving away from the 'first come, first served' model.
