Romania has sufficient coal reserves to temporarily support electricity production, with Rovinari's Group 4 able to add nearly 300 MW. The challenge lies in maintaining these energy sources long-term. Bușoi emphasized that while hydro energy must be conserved for winter, imports are significantly more expensive. He assured that there is enough electricity from gas and coal, and imports will continue as long as regional resources are available. Although there may be some impact on consumer bills, it won't be significant if the situation is short-lived. The closure of Cernavoda's Unit 2 has led to increased reliance on Rovinari to meet national energy needs.
