Bușoi, după importurile de energie ale României la preț ridicat: „Facturile ar putea crește cu până la 15%”

Cristian Bușoi, Secretary of State in the Ministry of Energy, stated that Romania is currently relying on electricity imports, especially in the evening, with prices significantly higher than bilateral contracts. He warned that if regional market pressures persist, consumer bills could rise by 10-15% during contract renegotiations. The prices for imports are currently 2-2.5 times higher than those from bilateral agreements. Bușoi mentioned that while short-term impacts on bills would be minimal, prolonged crises could lead to noticeable increases. Romania has reserve production capacities, including Rovinari 4, but activating them is not economically justified at present. Hydro energy can help reduce import dependence during peak consumption hours, but must be managed carefully due to uncertain rainfall forecasts.
