Border police in Giurgiu confiscated goods worth over 1.3 million lei and 13,200 cigarettes during a recent operation targeting illegal migration and cross-border crime. The operation, conducted from September 17 to 20, involved checks on international transport routes, revealing counterfeit clothing, footwear, and cosmetics. The seized items belonged to Turkish and Romanian citizens who failed to provide proper documentation. The estimated value of the counterfeit goods is over 1.3 million lei, while the cigarettes are valued at 19,800 lei. Legal actions have been initiated against the offenders for trademark infringement and illegal possession of untaxed products.
