Bunele intenții care atrag urșii în Brașov: Mâncarea lăsată pisicilor comunitare devine momeală pentru sălbăticiuni • Administrație Biz Brasov
The presence of bears in Brașov has become common, with local authorities struggling to manage the issue due to residents' actions. Despite stricter measures, including relocation and euthanasia of dangerous bears, the animals continue to be attracted by easily accessible food. Local residents unintentionally contribute to the problem by leaving food for stray animals near waste collection points, which bears exploit. Vice Mayor Dan Ghiță urged citizens to stop leaving food near containers and highlighted the lack of stray dogs in public areas. Authorities have noted poor waste management practices among residents living near forests, prompting calls for proper waste disposal methods to deter bears. Waste collection frequency in critical areas will also be increased to minimize food sources for wildlife.
