Bulgaria plans to join a NATO initiative for drone defense by the end of October, as announced by Defense Minister Dimitar Stoianov. The country will contribute €220,000 annually to the program aimed at enhancing defense against low-altitude aerial threats. Bulgaria is also investing €80 million in acquiring 20 anti-drone systems, collaborating with Spain for the purchase. Recent drone attacks in the Black Sea have raised concerns, prompting Bulgaria to seek international support for maritime security. Discussions with NATO and neighboring countries have taken place to address these threats.
