Bulgaria păstrează MiG-29 în serviciu. Tranziția completă la F-16 este amânată
Bulgaria will continue using MiG-29 fighter jets for air policing until F-16 Block 70s are fully operational. The Ministry of Defense confirmed the necessity of maintaining MiG-29s for NATO obligations. Bulgaria is seeking spare parts from various countries but does not plan to increase its MiG-29 fleet. The current shortage of parts has not impacted the main missions of the Bulgarian Air Force. Additionally, Bulgaria is exploring the possibility of acquiring second-hand F-16s and Gripens, although a favorable response is not expected. The delivery of the second batch of F-16s has been delayed, extending the operational life of the MiG-29s.
