Bulgaria, nemulțumită că Serbia și România închid concomitent tronsoane feroviare importante pentru reparații, temeri pentru comerțul din regiune

Bulgarian Transport Minister Gheorghi Peev discussed upcoming railway repairs in Serbia and Romania that will impact freight transport. Serbia plans to close the Niš-Dimitrovgrad line for about 200 days starting September 2026, while Romania will halt traffic on the Giurgiu Nord-Ruse route from April to December 2027. Bulgaria is concerned about the simultaneous restrictions affecting trade flows between Central Europe, the Balkans, and Turkey. Peev emphasized the need for coordinated repair activities to maintain rail connectivity and proposed scheduling freight train intervals to minimize disruptions. Further discussions will focus on operational solutions to mitigate negative impacts on border rail traffic.
