Bulgaria majorează pragul sărăciei la 443 de euro / 21,2% din populația țării trăiește sub acest nivel

Bulgaria's poverty threshold will rise to 443 euros monthly starting January 2027, affecting 21.2% of the population. This increase, approved by the government and social partners, will enhance various social support measures. The Ministry of Labor estimates a need for an additional 94 million euros in the 2027 budget to accommodate the rise in social payments. While the new threshold is lower than union demands, it is expected to reduce the poverty rate slightly. In contrast, Romania's relative poverty threshold is calculated based on income and will be set for 2026 after data collection.
