Eurostat reports that Romania and Luxembourg experienced the lowest growth in labor costs within the EU, with Romania's hourly wage costs rising by only 1.8% in Q2 2026 compared to 3.2% across the EU. This figure reflects the nominal hourly labor costs borne by employers, influenced by both wage costs and hours worked. In contrast, Bulgaria saw a significant increase of 9.9%. The overall labor cost in Romania also grew by 1.8%, with non-salary costs rising by 1.9%. This marks a sharp decline from the previous year's growth of 10.3%.
