Bulgaria, condamnată de CEDO pentru demolarea unei tabere de romi

The European Court of Human Rights condemned Bulgaria for demolishing a Roma settlement in 2023, violating the right to private and family life. Fifty-six claimants brought the case after their settlement was demolished in Sofia. The court ruled that Bulgaria breached Article 8 of the European Convention on Human Rights but did not find violations of Articles 3 and 14. The claimants were not involved in the demolition process and received the orders only post-demolition. Each claimant will receive €10,000 in compensation, with an additional €18,000 for other expenses.
